WINTER 2023 National Gardener tng-winter-2023

Happy New Year to everyone.  I hope you are staying well, but I know many of you are not.  I’ve been a bit under-the-weather, also.

This issue includes the information about the upcoming NGC Convention.  It also details the updates to NGC’s bylaws.  Remember, each state and each club in the state must update their bylaws to align with NGC’s.  It’s time for us all to review our bylaws and get those necessary updates in place for the new president’s term.

Be watching your email – your registrations for the April conventions will be coming very soon.

The HANDBOOK FOR FLOWER SHOWS, January 2022 revision, is now available FREE online at NGC’s website:

April 26, 2022 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederick Law Olmsted, renowned conservationist and landscape architect credited with having created public parks providing city dwellers “a sense of enlarged freedom,” being restorative in nature and connecting communities. I’m delighted to share a video created by historian Kirk Brown to commemorate Olmsted’s birthday. Kirk entertains and educates garden clubs members and history lovers with his energetic and passionate, horticulturally related presentations.
This is the first of a President’s series planned for the next year that will entertain and educate National Garden Club members. This video will be available until May 11. You’re welcome to share the link with your clubs until then. Enjoy!
NGC President Mary Warshauer
